Our distribution centres:
Our facility in Kingston, Ontario is aggressively implementing and continuously improving on environmental initiatives. Since the opening of the facility in June 2007, all waste has been seperated into categories; plastics, corrugated and other waste products.
- Our facility has been built to maximize on energy savings of everything from lighting, to heating systems.
- Plenty of windows have been built in the building to allow for natural lighting for the benefit of our staff as well as for energy conservation purposes.
- In terms of water conservation, we have installed water saving fixtures within our facilities to ensure we manage our water consumption usage.
- In terms of heating, we have positioned separate thermostat units throughout the warehouse to adjust temperatures so as not to waste energy unnescessarily. This will be monitored closely by our management team on site.
Today, all our distribution centres use a predetermination system when it comes to the choice of delivery box sizes. Boxes are sized to fit the customer order to reduce waste and to significantly reduce the amount of cardboard generated to the customers.
our fleet policy:
Fuel comsumption is measured and exhaustive route planning is undertaken to maximize service excellence to the customer with the minimum impact on the environment from emissions. All of our fleet vehicles meet the Canadian emissions standards, and are tested for compliance with Provincial Ministry requirements.
